Trip to An Asian Grocery Store

Fried Tofu and Baby Bok ChoyI requested a colleague of mine to accompany me to the Asian Grocery store near work. She is from Hong Kong and I really wanted her view of things to buy.  I purchased some fresh and dry noodles and also fried tofu and bok choy.

I made a quick stir fry with the fresh noodles and that was dinner. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to take pictures again.  The noodles were good. I ‘ve decided that I prefer fresh tofu to the fried variety. I won’t be buying them again and even if I wan’t fried tofu I’ll make it at home. When it comes to fresh noodles, though they are great in taste and so very handy; they have sodium benzoate in them as a presavative and I am really trying to avoid feeding preservatives to my family. Hmm, I’ll have to research a little more into making and freezing them at home. Aditya would love helping me with that project.

I had also purchased baby Bok Choy. I use that a lot in my Asian style cooking along with Napa Cabbage.  One staple in my freezer these days is the Stir Fry vegetable blend from Costco. I use that a lot.  Whether it be for a stir fry or just steam and eat the veggies.
