Royyalu Koora ( Shrimp Curry)

My Mom’s Shrimp Curry is one of my favorite dishes. It’s spicy and delicious. Do cut back on the spices if you cannot handle it
Royallu Koora
Ingredients
  • 1 pound Shrimp, raw or cooked
  • 2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 teaspoons ginger garlic past
  • 2 whole green chiles, sliced
  • 1 piece cinnamon stick, 2 inches
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 teaspoons chile powder, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • Cilantro – for garnish, chopped fine

Method

  • Marinade the shrimp with the turmeric, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and salt for at least half an hour.
  • Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cloves and cinnamon.
  • Next add the onions and green chilies. Stir.
  • When the onions start browning slightly add the remaining ginger – garlic paste.
  • Sauté for two minutes.
  • Add the Shrimp and mix well. cook for 5 min.
  • Add about 1/2 cup of water and cook until the water has almost evaporates.
  • Add the garam masala, just before removing from heat. Garnish with cilantro.
  • Serve hot with boiled rice.
