My Mom’s Shrimp Curry is one of my favorite dishes. It’s spicy and delicious. Do cut back on the spices if you cannot handle it

Ingredients
-
1 pound Shrimp, raw or cooked
-
2 medium onion, finely chopped
-
3 teaspoons ginger garlic past
-
2 whole green chiles, sliced
-
1 piece cinnamon stick, 2 inches
-
4 tablespoons oil
-
3 whole cloves
-
1 teaspoon garam masala
-
2 teaspoons chile powder, to taste
-
1 teaspoon garam masala
-
salt to taste
-
Cilantro – for garnish, chopped fine
Method
-
Marinade the shrimp with the turmeric, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and salt for at least half an hour.
-
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cloves and cinnamon.
-
Next add the onions and green chilies. Stir.
-
When the onions start browning slightly add the remaining ginger – garlic paste.
-
Sauté for two minutes.
-
Add the Shrimp and mix well. cook for 5 min.
-
Add about 1/2 cup of water and cook until the water has almost evaporates.
-
Add the garam masala, just before removing from heat. Garnish with cilantro.
-
Serve hot with boiled rice.
