Fried Chicken

There was a garage sale in our neighborhood a couple of weeks ago and Shilpi found an unused deep fryer for three bucks there. Being gadget crazy as I am; I could not wait to try it out.

This is a very simple recipe and the chicken was de..li…cious !!

Ingredients

Buttermilk – 1 cup
Boneless chicken thighs– 1 lb
All-purpose flour – 1 cup, approx.
Salt to taste
Fresh cracked pepper to taste
Cornflakes – ½ cup, crushed (optional)

Method

Cube the chicken and marinate in the buttermilk overnight.

Heat the fryer to recommended temperature (350 o F, approx.), If you are not using an electric fryer, do still try and use a cooking thermometer to get the oil hot to the right temperature.

Meanwhile season the flour with salt and pepper and add crushed cornflakes for extra crunch. Mix well.

Coat the marinated chicken with the flour mixture and fry in batches.

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
